2020 Virtual Summer Institute Earns Rave Reviews

This year, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, AFIT "embraced disruption" when we decided to host the 2020 Summer Institute as a virtual event for the first time in our 30-year history. This radically different approach required our Executive Committee, staff, members, and their teams to step outside of their comfort zones and take a leap of faith. But after two days of powerful presentations from world-class learning partners at the United States Air Force Academy, Microsoft, Cognizant's Center for the Future of Work, and Howard Community College, as well as virtual networking sessions and dedicated "team time," everyone agreed—it was totally worth it!

Here are a handful of the comments we received from attendees:

"There were so many excellent takeaways for our institution, especially related to applying growth mindset to leadership and culture across the organization and addressing disruption as related to technology and future jobs."

"The method used to have short presentations integrated with lots of team time was very good and contributed to our team's learning throughout the two days."

"The content was immediately usable as well as thought provoking."

"This was my first AFIT conference, and I was blown away at the speakers, content, and engagement."

"I especially enjoyed the keynote session topics and speakers, as well as learning about the models for innovation on college campuses."
