The Alliance for Innovation & Transformation (AFIT), an exclusive association for higher education CEOs, announced it has promoted Erika Liodice to the role of executive director, effective January 1, 2022. In this position, Liodice will help set the organization’s strategic direction and oversee operations, learning partner development, membership growth, and programming.
“The AFIT Executive Committee considered a number of candidates for the position and concluded that Erika’s business experience, excellent leadership skills, vision for the future of the organization, and commitment to the AFIT team culture made her the right choice to lead AFIT to even greater heights in the years ahead,” said Dr. Leah Bornstein, president of AFIT. “We are proud of her accomplishments over the past six years and excited to see the ideas and initiatives she will bring to the organization as its new leader.”
Liodice joined AFIT in 2015 as marketing coordinator. During her tenure, she has played a key role in many initiatives, including the development of AFIT's popular CEO Networking Sessions, which provide a monthly virtual venue for member CEOs and invited guests to have candid conversations about the disruptive changes and challenges facing their organizations.
“For over three decades, AFIT has fostered a tight-knit community of innovative CEOs who are shaping the future of higher education, and I am honored to be part of that important work,” said Liodice. “I am humbled by the trust the Executive Committee has placed in me, and I look forward to helping build on the solid foundation we have created while protecting and promoting the qualities that make our organization unique.”
Liodice will succeed John Politi, who plans to retire at the end of the year. “It has been a distinct honor for me to have had the opportunity to serve as AFIT's executive director for the last 12 years," said Politi. “Erika's exceptional skills and creativity have allowed AFIT to expand its services and add greater value to its members. She is an excellent choice to lead the organization going forward, and I am confident she will achieve tremendous success in the days ahead.”
