Amy Koehler

Dr. Amy Koehler serves as the Provost & Chief Academic Officer at St Charles Community College where she leads the institution's academic programs, strategic initiatives and student services. With a unique background in healthcare and academia, she brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her executive role.

As a cardiovascular advanced practice nurse, Dr. Koehler dedicated much of her career to improving patient outcomes and advancing healthcare practices. She possesses deep knowledge of clinical care, medical research, and interdisciplinary collaboration, having worked in hospital and academic medical centers. Dr. Koehler uses her healthcare experience to build partnerships with hospital systems in the St Louis region and beyond.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Koehler is a collaborative academic leader committed to fostering student success and academic excellence. Holding advanced degrees in nursing and education, she has held various teaching and adminstrative roles. Her entrepreneurial spirit has led to the creation of innovative programs, such as a virtual reality learning lab, an eSports program, a Field-to-Table Institute and a award winning virtual hospital. She is dedicated to advancing innovative pedagogical efforts and championing initiatives that promote interdiciplinary research and community engagement.

As Provost and Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Koehler strives to support student success and foster a culture of excellence and innovation. She strives to create opportunites for lifelong learning, academic innovation, and transormative scholarship that positively impact both the campus community and society at large. Known for her collaborative approach to leadership, she fosters innovative learning environements and partnerships.

Outside of her professional work, Dr. Koehler advocates for healthcare and educational equity, volunteering her time and expertise to various community organizations and initiatives.
