Steve Rice Joins AFIT Staff
AFIT is pleased to announce that Steve Rice has joined the team as the organization’s new financial coordinator. Steve brings both accounting expertise and a passion for innovation to AFIT.
Steve is a faculty member at one of AFIT’s member colleges, Northwestern Michigan College (NMC), led by Dr. Nick Nissley, in Traverse City, Michigan, where he teaches courses in Accounting and QuickBooks. Steve is also the co-founder and director of NMC’s Office of Possibilities (OOPs), a proactive hub, incubator, and platform for innovation in higher education, which welcomes ideas and implements change. He is a certified Ice House Facilitator through the Entrepreneurial Learning Initiative, a global thought leader dedicated to expanding human potential through entrepreneurial mindset education—and AFIT’s 2023 lead learning partner.
Having worked in a variety of higher education environments throughout his career, Steve has a growing conviction that there could not be a more exciting time to be in higher education as we are on the precipice of an invitation to courageously innovate our way into the next 150 years.
Steve holds a B.S. in Accounting from University of Delaware, an M.S. in Business Finance from Boston College, and an M.A. in Spiritual Formation from Wheaton College.
